Job Summary: Regional Security Manager, Global Security Operations will play a vital role in the implementation of BioMarin’s Global Security program designed to protect the company’s critical assets—our people, properties, and medicines. This individual should be well versed in physical security risk management strategies and developing associated policies, procedures, and programs to keep the company and global colleagues safe, secure, and resilient. Key Responsibilities: Builds partnerships with internal stakeholders to enable company goals and objectives and to maintain a secure work environment. Stays current regarding industrial/physical security practices, trends and technologies and maintains the site security assessment programs as appropriate. Manage operational budget and contract renewal/onboarding processes for key security suppliers Acts as the main point-of-contact with the contracted security officer Account Manager to maintain all aspects of site security support for key executives and North American operations. Embed safety and security awareness at BioMarin by creating and enforcing policies, developing and delivering training and educating the BioMarin Leadership Team and department heads on critical site or operational risks. Maintain our global physical security standards, professionalize a force of contracted protective security officers, and leverage a responsive team focused on security risk mitigation that employs technology-based solutions to identify and limit any impact to our people, places, and operations. Create and guide teams managing scalable travel security, workplace violence prevention, executive protection, supply chain security, and business continuity/operational resilience solutions Conduct investigations into security incidents Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including HR, Legal, Cybersecurity, IT, Global Real Estate, and Business Resiliency to integrate security considerations into all aspects of the business. Serve as a liaison with external security providers, law enforcement, government agencies, and other relevant stakeholders. Qualifications: 8-10 years of experience in corporate security, with expertise in physical, operational, and intelligence-based security management. Pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry a plus. Strong executive presence and the ability to influence and educate senior leadership and department leaders. Expertise in developing and implementing security policies, standards, and training programs. Experience in managing physical security, travel security, workplace violence prevention, and executive protection Experience working with law enforcement around the world and building strong relationships with these and other government agencies. Experience managing budgets and contracts Skills: Excellent leadership and team management skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
