The Application Support Senior Analyst provides technical and business support for users of Citi Applications, delivering quick resolutions to issues and driving stability, efficiency, and effectiveness improvements. Maintain application systems that are in daily operations after development. Manage, maintain, and support applications and their operating environments with a focus on stability, quality, and functionality against service level expectations. Perform start-of-day checks, continuous monitoring, and regional handovers. Conduct same-day risk reconciliations and develop/maintain technical support documentation. Identify ways to maximize the potential of the applications used; assess risk and impact of production issues and escalate appropriately. Ensure storage and archiving procedures are in place and functioning correctly. Define scope and objectives for complex application enhancements and problem resolution; review and develop application contingency planning for availability. Prioritize bug fixes and support tooling requirements in partnership with development and production support areas. Participate in application releases from development through testing and production deployment; engage in post-implementation analysis. Assess technology implications, identify risks and security issues, and communicate impact. Follow essential procedures and help define operating standards and processes; act as liaison between users/traders, internal technology groups, and vendors. Raise problems to appropriate technology and business teams while adhering to SLAs. Act as advisor/coach to new or lower-level analysts; provide evaluative judgment in complex situations. Impact the business by ensuring quality of work and facilitating information exchange across teams; participate in support projects focusing on stability, efficiency, and effectiveness. Operate with limited direct supervision and exercise independent judgment; act as SME to senior stakeholders and team members. Demonstrate strong communication and diplomacy skills and manage risk with transparency. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications
5-8 years of experience in an application support role. Experience installing, configuring, or supporting business applications. Proficiency in SQL, shell scripting, and Unix. Experience with Kibana and Chrome Dev Tools. Background in application development (Java, microservices) preferred; ability to read Java code. Experience with big data (Hive, Spark). Experience with ETL tools (Informatica, Ab Initio or Talend). Data management and support skills; shift-based role with flexibility for extended hours and weekends. Strong execution capabilities and adaptability to changing priorities. Effective written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical issues to non-IT staff. Strong analytical skills and experience with issue tracking and reporting tools; knowledge of problem management tools. Good all-round technical skills and ability to share information with other teams; ability to plan and organize workload. Clear and concise communication with stakeholders. Education
