JOB SUMMARY:
Clemson University's Donor Relations Team is looking for an Associate Director Donor Relations Strategy to fulfill the following duties: The Associate Director of Donor Relations Strategy is responsible for cultivating and managing relationships with internal stakeholders, including members of the development team and College/Unit partners, in order to ensure a consistent, thoughtful, and impactful donor experience. This position serves as the liaison and subject-matter expert and internal contact for assigned colleges and units. Performs other duties as assigned. JOB DUTIES:
40% - Essential - Strategic Engagement:
Serves as the primary liaison for assigned colleges/units to ensure consistent and impactful donor experience aligned with each unit’s strategic priorities. Builds relationships with unit leads, deans, faculty, staff, and students to identify ways to showcase philanthropic impact and integrate donors into college initiatives. Maintains regular communication with unit colleagues to identify opportunities for donor participation, while ensuring the recognition and stewardship of donors whose giving significantly supports the unit but is not under active management. 35% - Essential - Donor Relations Management:
Ensures the stewardship and engagement of individual donors under management by assigned development officers. Partners with development officers to design and execute customized stewardship strategies that reflect donor intent and interests. Identifies stewardship gaps, develops solutions, and creates opportunities to demonstrate the impact of philanthropy broadly to Clemson donors. 25% - Essential - Gift Stewardship and Reporting:
Works with other team members, the Clemson University Foundation, and the Office of Scholarships to provide regular reporting to the assigned colleges related to philanthropic gifts, unspent endowment funds, and awarded scholarships; Communicates with the Clemson University Foundation, the assigned Business Officer and Development Officer to ensure gifts are recorded, tracked and used with their philanthropic intent. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education
- Bachelor's Degree Work Experience
- 1+ Years - Experience in non profit, higher education, client relations, project management or related field Responsibilities
- Firm Job Knowledge - Firm working knowledge of concepts, practices and procedures and ability to use in varied situations Clemson University is an EEO/AA employer.
