Sr. Preconstruction Manager

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Sr. Preconstruction Manager to expand our presence, drive revenue growth, and build lasting client partnerships in the commercial construction industry. This senior role is ideal for a strategic, relationship-driven professional with a proven track record in sales and market development.
Position Overview
The Sr. Preconstruction Manager will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, cultivating strong client relationships, and developing strategies that align with Paulson-Cheek’s growth goals. This role requires both high-level strategy and hands-on execution, with a focus on expanding market share and driving long-term success.
Responsibilities
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities in the commercial construction sector.
Develop and execute strategic business development and sales plans.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, decision-makers, and industry partners.
Lead, mentor, and motivate the business development team to achieve growth targets.
Conduct market research to identify trends, competitor strategies, and emerging opportunities.
Prepare and deliver compelling client proposals, RFP responses, and executive-level presentations.
Partner with estimating and project teams to ensure seamless handoff, client satisfaction, and project success.
Track performance metrics, reporting results to senior leadership, and adjusting strategies as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field.
Proven track record of success in new business development and sales within commercial construction.
Strong knowledge of the construction industry, project delivery methods, and market dynamics.
Demonstrated success in opening new markets/verticals and securing sustainable business.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Strong negotiation and closing skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
Experience with estimating is a plus.
