Commodity Strategy Manager

to deliver advanced market intelligence, price forecasting, and risk analysis across key agricultural commodities. This position supports procurement, operations, finance, and executive leadership by providing actionable insights, scenario modeling, and hedging recommendations. The ideal candidate combines deep market knowledge with strong analytical and communication skills to drive value across the organization. Responsibilities : Analyze global and domestic agricultural commodity markets, including grains, oilseeds, livestock, and feed ingredients. Develop and maintain advanced forecasting models using supply-demand fundamentals, weather data, trade flows, and macroeconomic indicators. Monitor and interpret market drivers such as crop reports, geopolitical events, currency fluctuations, and regulatory changes. Deliver regular market outlooks and scenario analysis to inform strategic planning and procurement decisions. Oversee commodity risk exposure and support hedging strategies aligned with corporate risk tolerance. Monitor futures markets and execute trades in coordination with internal stakeholders and external brokers. Prepare timely trade reports and performance summaries for senior leadership. Partner with procurement, operations, finance, and investment teams to align commodity strategies with business objectives. Provide strategic input on sourcing decisions, contract structures, and investment opportunities. Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and analyst briefings. Manage relationships with external data providers, consultants, and market intelligence platforms. Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to commodity exposure, cost performance, and hedge effectiveness. Ensure data integrity and maintain robust documentation of models, assumptions, and market positions. Qualifications : Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics, Economics, Finance, Agribusiness, or a related field; Master’s degree or MBA with a focus on commodities, finance, or data analytics. 8+ years of experience in commodity analysis, trading, procurement, or risk management, preferably in agriculture or food production. Proven expertise in market modeling, price forecasting, and risk assessment. Experience with futures markets, hedging instruments, and commodity trading platforms. Advanced proficiency in Excel, MicroStrategy, and at least one programming or statistical tool (e.g., Python, R, SAS). Strong demonstrated communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders. Excellent project management and leadership capabilities. High attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights.
