AVIATION SPECIALIST (STARLINK AVIATION) SpaceX is leveraging its experience building rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink, the world’s most advanced broadband internet system and largest satellite constellation. We provide fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide, including populations with little or no connectivity, rural communities, aircraft, watercraft, and places where existing services are too expensive or unreliable. The Starlink Aviation team is developing mobility solutions for aircraft that will connect to the Starlink constellation and provide an amazing in-flight customer experience. As an Aviation Specialist, you will be responsible for monitoring the performance of Starlink products in a variety of airframes and mobile platforms. You will help solve aviation specific issues, run root cause investigations, and work with design, test, and manufacturing teams to improve Starlink product quality. You will coordinate and support Starlink aviation installations, help manage the lifecycle of the product, and improve Starlink customer processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as primary SpaceX technical focal point for Starlink Aviation interfacing with airline/customer operations point-of-contact

Develop and document procedures to train internal on-call operators for customer support, remote troubleshooting, and debugging

Own external facing certification and airline contractual deliverables in support of troubleshooting and maintenance of Starlink Aviation systems

Monitor fleet health and taking ownership of the overall performance of the installed fleet, coordinating with software, network, and aircraft technicians to resolve issues that are impacting service level in an expedited manner

Coordinate and support Starlink Aviation installations and provisioning to network

Build, test, and maintain representative ground test setups to reproduce field issues and aid in root-causing issues

Provide hands-on support for site surveys for new product development and hardware investigations in the field

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalency certificate

2+ years of professional work experience in information technology, aviation, aerospace, customer service, consumer electronics, or technical support or a Bachelor's degree in a STEM field

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Experience working with multi-disciplinary engineering teams for product support and issue resolution

Experience working with technical documentation, engineering drawings, and schematics

Experience with networking problems and basic knowledge of Ethernet, Routing, TCP/IP protocols and VLAN

Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to navigate and manipulate files

Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Experience in product integration in mobile, aerospace, marine, or automotive industries

Experience working in a customer facing role

Experience with Linux, python or other scripting language. Ability to process fleet data and present trends to engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive cross-disciplinary improvements to product and process

Ability to fabricate and repair cable harnesses including: soldering, crimping, assembling connectors

Experience working with oscilloscopes, digital multimeters, power supplies, and soldering equipment

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as needed to meet critical deadlines

Must be willing to travel up to 25%

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range: Aviation Specialist/Level 1: $32.00 - $40.00/hour Aviation Specialist/Level 2: $36.00 - $45.00/hour Aviation Specialist/Level 3: $40.00 - $50.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
