We have an opening for an Associate Director, Events in our New York office. The Associate Director, Events will lead the strategy, planning and execution of client-facing events that drive the Firm’s business development and marketing objectives. This role partners closely with partners, the Business Development team and other internal stakeholders to create and deliver high-impact, brand-aligned experiences that deepen client relationships and enhance the Firm’s market presence. In this capacity, the Associate Director, Events will: Direct and manage all aspects of client events, including venue selection, budget oversight, vendor negotiations, catering, audiovisual, invitations, registration and branded materials; Provide leadership to the events team, developing best practices and standard operating procedures that ensure consistency and excellence; Build and manage relationships with event vendors and consultants, ensuring seamless execution, timely delivery and adherence to quality standards; negotiate favorable contracts to optimize value; Collaborate with Business Development managers to align event strategy with firm-wide business goals, including targeted outreach, tailored logistics and post-event engagement to maximize ROI; Conceptualize and recommend innovative event formats and experiences tailored to key audiences, industries, and practice areas; Oversee invitation management and attendee data within the Firm’s CRM, ensuring accuracy, integrity and actionable insights; Implement and monitor best practices in event management, including budget tracking, project timelines and post-event reporting and analysis; and Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to foster collaboration across teams and strengthen external relationships. Proficiencies: Proven project management expertise with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously; Excellent verbal and communication skills, including attention to detail and proofreading; Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with senior executives, partners and high-profile clients; Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable event strategies; Extensive experience managing and maintaining event budgets; Deep knowledge of New York City’s venues, vendors, restaurants, and entertainment landscape, with established industry relationships; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet tight deadlines; Resourceful, proactive problem solver with a collaborative mindset and strong initiative; and Flexibility to travel as needed, to support Firmwide client events and offsite retreats. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree (required); and At least 12+ years of experience (required) in a successful event planning role professional services environment – preferably legal. The salary wage range that we expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $185,000 and a maximum of $260,000 annually.
