Overview
The Associate Director, Events will lead the strategy, planning and execution of client-facing events that drive the Firm's business development and marketing objectives. This role partners closely with partners, the Business Development team and other internal stakeholders to create and deliver high-impact, brand-aligned experiences that deepen client relationships and enhance the Firm's market presence. Responsibilities
Direct and manage all aspects of client events, including venue selection, budget oversight, vendor negotiations, catering, audiovisual, invitations, registration and branded materials; Provide leadership to the events team, developing best practices and standard operating procedures that ensure consistency and excellence; Build and manage relationships with event vendors and consultants, ensuring seamless execution, timely delivery and adherence to quality standards; negotiate favorable contracts to optimize value; Collaborate with Business Development managers to align event strategy with firm-wide business goals, including targeted outreach, tailored logistics and post-event engagement to maximize ROI; Conceptualize and recommend innovative event formats and experiences tailored to key audiences, industries, and practice areas; Oversee invitation management and attendee data within the Firm's CRM, ensuring accuracy, integrity and actionable insights; Implement and monitor best practices in event management, including budget tracking, project timelines and post-event reporting and analysis; and Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to foster collaboration across teams and strengthen external relationships. Qualifications
Proven project management expertise with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously; Excellent verbal and communication skills, including attention to detail and proofreading; Strong interpersonal skills and confidence working with senior executives, partners and high-profile clients; Demonstrated ability to analyze data and translate insights into actionable event strategies; Extensive experience managing and maintaining event budgets; Deep knowledge of New York City's venues, vendors, restaurants, and entertainment landscape, with established industry relationships; Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, adapt to shifting priorities, and meet tight deadlines; Resourceful, proactive problem solver with a collaborative mindset and strong initiative;
