Overview
Procurement Associate Director - Global EMI at BD Nogales Norte. The role reports to the Procurement Director - Global EMI, Contract Manufacturing and Supply Network Transformation, and leads a team of global category managers to enable strategies and excellence in supplier relationship management for a diverse portfolio in Electromechanical and Instrumentation (including Electronics, Motors, Sensors, Power Supply, Cables & Connectors, Connectivity, Embedded Software and other subcategories). Responsibilities
Lead and develop a team of high-impact global category managers Define and communicate category strategies aligned with business requirements and market conditions to drive savings and value opportunities across BD Ensure continuous refreshes of category strategies by category managers based on internal and external sensing Collaborate with category managers, business unit procurement teams, R&D sourcing teams and internal customers to deliver recommendations for incorporating category strategies and value delivery into business commitments for review and approval Ensure supplier selection aligns with sourcing strategies and obtains required approvals Assign supplier relationship owners and communicate assignments into the business Guide category managers on supplier relationship excellence to deliver quarterly business reviews, multi-year value plans, and sustainability activities within category strategies Support negotiation planning, negotiations and contracting with suppliers Develop and maintain risk mitigation plans for the category portfolio Take financial accountability and ensure price movement is handled effectively to meet budget objectives Ensure optimal supply base compliance with corporate procedures and legislation About You
Self-starter mentality and growth mindset to challenge status quo Proven experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in the healthcare industry Strong leadership and management skills to inspire and motivate a diverse team Commitment to results and a track record of delivering results Excellent negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and colleagues Proven initiative in implementing procurement strategies and achieving outcomes Strong business acumen with the ability to balance short-term priorities and long-term strategy Basic Qualifications
BS/BA degree with 8-10+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing environments across direct materials Category Management, Procurement, Sourcing, Operations, or equivalent Additional Qualifications
Experience with contract manufacturing and electro-mechanical, mechatronic and medical instrumentation supply bases; prior people management experience is a plus Work Environment
Travel may be required up to 30% of time. On-site collaboration is prioritized; in most roles a minimum of 4 days in-office per week is expected, with flexibility where applicable.
