Teach English Language Development to high school students. The role emphasizes aligning instruction with KIPP’s academic vision, including daily lesson planning, intentional curriculum design, regular data analysis, and the implementation of Social Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons and Restorative Practices to create a joyful, inclusive classroom community. Responsibilities

Teach with Purpose: plan daily lessons, design curriculum, analyze data to support all students’ growth, and implement SEL and Restorative Practices to foster an inclusive classroom community. Support and Collaboration: work with the Leadership Team and Instructional Coach, participate in weekly meetings and ongoing feedback to improve instructional practices. Commitment to Anti-Racism: participate in ongoing development to reflect on identities and experiences, analyze school systems and data to advance anti-racist practices, and implement changes to meet community needs. Qualifications

Preferred Experience

Experience as an educator teaching students from demographics similar to the KIPP Northern California student community. Education

Hold a B.A./B.S. degree from a regionally accredited institution Meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

Hold a valid teaching credential in the desired subject, or Eligibility for a Provisional Internship Permit, or Eligibility for a Short Term Staff Permit

Knowledge/Skills

Commitment to KIPP mission and anti-racist educator stance Belief that all students can achieve at high levels Strong content knowledge Proficient relationship-building with students, families, and communities Strong communication with students, families, and colleagues Proficient in Google Suite (Classroom, Hangouts, Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.) Ability to learn and utilize instructional technology to support in-class and distance learning (e.g., Zoom, Nearpod) Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Daily and long-term lesson planning aligned with KIPP’s academic vision and goals Regular data analysis to identify student trends and inform instruction Maintain a positive, inclusive, rigorous classroom environment with Restorative Practices and SEL Use culturally responsive classroom management to create a safe learning environment Regular communication with staff, students, families, and other stakeholders Attend weekly professional development and Communities of Practice Update student records regularly (attendance, grades, behavior data, etc.) Physical, Mental and Environmental Demands

Physical:

Ability to navigate school and classroom settings, access and utilize technology, and occasionally lift 1-20 lbs. Mental:

Manage deadlines, analyze problems, handle interruptions, concentrate, and perform cognitive tasks as needed. Environmental:

School/ classroom environment with potential interruptions; follow health and safety guidelines per CDC, CDE, and public health guidance. Classification
