Regular Responsibilities
Collaborates as a member of the College of Nursing Administrative Team to support the research mission. Contributes to the College of Nursing strategic planning process. Actively recruits research-intensive faculty and fosters a culture of research and scholarly engagement. Ensure administrative support for the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Nursing program; ensure adequate faculty and support for PhD students. Mentor Tenure Track faculty throughout the tenure trajectory; collaborate on workload allocations and start-up funding utilization. Support promotion and tenure processes and provide post-tenure mentorship for research-active faculty. Lead and model leadership in research and scholarly work through engagement with national and international professional organizations. Supervise faculty and staff and manage assigned areas of responsibility. Maintain an active program of scholarship and research. Qualifications
PhD Active nursing license in Georgia or eligibility to apply for licensure Academic teaching, administrative and leadership experience Experience with technology-infused pedagogical strategies Background commensurate with Associate Professor or higher Evidence of national-level professional recognition Excellent written and verbal communication skills Rank and Qualifications Details
Associate Professor or Professor level with rank determined by credentials. Per BOR policy, Professors must have a terminal degree. Faculty employment qualifications align with SACSCOC standards and USG core values (Integrity, Excellence, Accountability, Respect). Preferred Qualifications
Proven success securing external funding and maintaining funding through independent efforts Experience mentoring faculty in grant writing and project development Ability to build and manage research teams, labs, or interdisciplinary initiatives Experience fostering cross-departmental or industry collaborations Shift/Salary/Benefits
This position is fiscal year-based and year-round. The work is full-time (FTE 1.0). Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements and subject to funds availability. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, holidays, vacation, sick leave, retirement plans, tuition waiver, wellness options, etc. Eligible full-time employees may participate in the Tuition Assistance Program after six months of employment. Rank and salary are determined at hire, reflecting experience, education, credentials, and market data. Advancement follows the annual Promotion and Tenure process. College/Department Information
