Overview The 1,054-room Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is the newest luxury hotel in the City of Boston, featuring seven outlets for dining and drinking, a signature spa, fitness center, rooftop pool, and more than 100,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

Location: US-MA-Boston

The Omni Boston Hotel at the Seaport is centered in the Seaport District, offering 1,054 guestrooms, 52 suites, seven dining experiences, a rooftop pool, a Breve Spa, and extensive meeting space. The hotel was recognized as a 2023 Best Places to Work by the Boston Business Journal. The Banquet Cook is responsible for all prep and production for the banquet culinary operation, in accordance with hotel standards.

Pay rate: $32.14/hr.

Responsibilities

Consistent maintenance and refinement of service standards. Ensures compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Contribute to the day-to-day culinary operation for all banquet functions, to include efficient and effective food production.

Perform all necessary tasks of a banquet cook according to hotel operating procedures to include but not limited to food prep, food production, plate up, kitchen and food equipment cleaning.

Responsible for the upkeep, safety and cleanliness in food preparation areas, refrigeration and storage areas.

Work with Banquet Chef to plan and implement menu development. Produce current and creative dishes that are relevant with hotel concepts.

Responsible to ensure that the correct standards are being maintained. Responsible for ensuring a high food quality and presentation.

Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation awareness standards. Prepare daily for health department and Ecosure inspections.

Qualifications

Candidate must have hands-on food and beverage knowledge and a comprehensive, working knowledge of the hospitality business.

Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed during busy times and high-profile events, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

A minimum of relevant cooking experience in a large convention hotel is strongly preferred.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to handle multiple priorities while maintaining composure.

Must have the ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods of time.

Environment & Physical Requirements

Interior of hotel, in restaurant and kitchen areas with exposure to steam, humidity and extreme temperature.

The ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time.

The ability to bend, reach and lift to 50lbs and push/pull/carry up to 100lbs.

Exposure to hazardous cleaning chemicals.
