Join Life Fitness / Hammer Strength as Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS). You will develop, implement, and lead the company’s global environmental, health, and safety strategies to ensure the well-being of employees, customers, contractors, and visitors, and maintain compliance with applicable regulations. You will partner with senior leadership, plant managers, facilities leaders, and field operations to foster a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for a Director of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) to lead our global EHS strategy and strengthen our culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement. Manage a comprehensive, multi-year EHS strategy aligned with corporate goals and operational objectives Serve as the company’s senior EHS leader, advising leadership on risk, compliance, sustainability, and incident trends Foster a strong safety culture that prioritizes hazard prevention, employee engagement, and shared accountability In partnership with Legal, Quality, and other functions, ensure company-wide compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and other federal, state, local EHS regulations, as well as applicable international standards Oversee EHS audits, inspections, and corrective actions for all sites Develop and maintain company EHS policies, procedures, and training programs Lead the company’s incident investigation process, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action plans Lead initiatives to reduce the company’s environmental footprint (energy use, waste reduction, water conservation, greenhouse gas emissions) Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste in accordance with regulations Partner with product development teams to assess and mitigate environmental impacts across the equipment life cycle Oversee safety programs across manufacturing, warehouse, installation, sales, and service operations, including ergonomics, machine guarding, electrical safety, fall protection, and safety protocols Develop job hazard analyses, safe work practices, and emergency response procedures Partner with HR and Operations to manage workers’ compensation cases, return-to-work programs, and injury prevention initiatives Ensure service teams have the appropriate safety equipment, training, and compliance support for working at customer sites Implement EHS onboarding and ongoing training for all employees, contractors, and relevant third parties Lead safety committees and employee engagement programs that promote proactive hazard reporting and continuous improvement Communicate EHS performance, goals, and successes across the organization to reinforce accountability and recognition Establish and track key EHS KPIs to monitor compliance, risk, and improvement progress Prepare regular reports for senior leadership on EHS performance, compliance status, and strategic initiatives Benchmark best practices in EHS management and drive continuous improvement initiatives Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety & Health, Engineering, or related field 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, including multi-site responsibility in a manufacturing environment; experience in an environment with field sales and service preferred Proven track record of developing and implementing successful global EHS programs Experience in a durable goods manufacturing environment strongly preferred Knowledge & Skills

In-depth knowledge of EHS regulations and standards across multiple jurisdictions Strong leadership and influencing skills, able to drive change across diverse global operations by building strong, collaborative working relationships Excellent communication, training, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage all levels of the organization Demonstrated ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement preventive measures Skilled in managing EHS in both manufacturing and customer-facing field environments strongly preferred Work Environment & Travel

Role is based out of either the manufacturing facility in Ramsey, MN or Owatonna, MN with frequent presence on the production floor, in warehouses, at sales offices, and at sites where products are sold, installed, and serviced Domestic and international travel required (up to 40%) to support the global footprint Compensation & Benefits

The salary range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $166,100 - $202,900 annually. The actual salary will vary based on education, experience, skills, and abilities. This position is eligible to participate in Life Fitness / Hammer Strength’s annual Manager Incentive Plan to receive an annual discretionary bonus in addition to base salary. The amount of bonus varies based on company and individual performance goals and is subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable incentive plan.
