We are looking for a Food Scientist who can bring deep technical expertise in emulsions and high-pressure homogenization, while embracing the fast-paced, hands-on culture of a start-up.
Role Overview: As a Food Scientist, you will be responsible for designing, formulating, and scaling innovative food emulsions from the lab bench through pilot production and into market launch. This role blends science and entrepreneurship – perfect for someone who enjoys wearing multiple hats and translating breakthrough science into real-world products.
Key Responsibilities
Formulation & Development: Create, optimize, and test food emulsions for applications.
Experiment with emulsifiers, stabilizers, and clean-label ingredients to meet consumer and market trends.
Run stability, droplet size, and sensory evaluations to refine product quality.
Process & Scale-Up: Operate and optimize high-pressure homogenizers and other mixing technologies.
Translate small-batch successes into scalable, reproducible processes for pilot and production runs.
Document and track process parameters for consistency and reproducibility.
Start-Up Mindset & Collaboration: Work closely with founders, product developers, and operations to bring ideas from concept to launch quickly.
Support troubleshooting, pivoting, and problem-solving in real time.
Contribute to innovation sessions and help shape the product pipeline.
Regulatory & Quality: Ensure formulations meet food safety standards and labeling regulations.
Partner with QA/QC to establish simple but effective testing and documentation processes.
