Associate Professor, Clinical Faculty Appointment (CFA), Pediatrics

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking an Associate Professor for a Clinical Faculty Appointment in Pediatrics. Responsibilities will include practicing clinical medicine in an exemplary manner, providing complete and thorough history and physical patient examinations, and performing invasive procedures as dictated by the physician's subspecialty. Clinical responsibilities will comprise 80% of the position and will include: Developing and maintaining a clinical practice for patients referred to MD Anderson Cancer Center. Visually reviewing and approving all charge documents within five working days. Completing patient documentation for medical records within time frames provided by institutional policy. Corresponding with physicians regarding patient care and treatment. Keeping abreast of current approaches in the management of patients through attendance at continuing education conferences. Sharing clinical responsibilities with other faculty. Administrative and service responsibilities will comprise 5% of the position and will include participating in investigation and review of best practice initiatives, serving on institutional and hospital committees, and representing the Pediatrics Division at local, regional, state, and national meetings. Research responsibilities will comprise 10% of the position and will include developing research programs and identifying grants and funding sources. Education and teaching responsibilities will comprise 5% of the position and will include acting as a role model for faculty, fellows, residents, and students, and providing a balanced and integrated educational program for pediatric residents and fellows. The ideal candidate will have an MD degree or equivalent, completed residency and fellowship training in an approved American Residency Program, and be eligible to be licensed as a physician in the State of Texas.
