EHSS Manager
to strengthen and scale our safety, security, and crisis management programs across the Pacific Division. Position Summary: The EHSS Manager will lead environmental, health, safety, and security initiatives across multiple warehouse and distribution centers in the Pacific Division. Reporting to the
VP of People Operations , this highly visible leadership role ensures regulatory compliance, fosters a proactive safety culture, oversees physical security measures, and leads crisis management planning. The role has a significant impact on associate safety, operational resilience, and risk mitigation. Key Responsibilities Safety & Compliance Develop, implement, and oversee EHSS programs in compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, WA L&I, OR OSHA, DOT, EPA, and other applicable regulations Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments; drive corrective action plans Maintain required records, permits, and reports for all local, state, and federal agencies Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, reporting, and remediation Security Oversight Oversee physical security for Pacific Division sites, including access controls, surveillance, and theft prevention Partner with Operations, HR, and Risk to strengthen associate security (facility, driver, and route safety) Recommend and implement security technologies and best practices Analyze and assess risks and threats to people, brand, and assets Lead behavioral threat management activities including assessment, de-escalation, mitigation, and coordination Draft and deliver high-visibility reports and presentations to senior leaders and stakeholders Establish and nurture intelligence-sharing relationships internally and externally Manage and maintain case records, including report writing and data entry Assist with complex and confidential workplace violence investigations Crisis Management Lead crisis management planning and response for natural disasters, workplace violence, pandemics, food safety recalls, and transportation incidents Develop and deliver emergency response training and drills Partner with Corporate EHS, Risk, and Operations on business continuity and disaster recovery planning Safety Leadership & Culture Build and sustain a proactive, prevention-first safety culture across all Pacific Division facilities Deliver engaging training programs for leaders and associates on safety, compliance, and emergency response Partner with site managers to ensure consistent execution of safety and security practices Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with People Operations, Legal, Risk, and Operations to align EHSS initiatives Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on safety, security, and crisis management strategies Continuing Education Stay current on regulatory developments and industry best practices Incorporate updates into EHSS programs and deliverables Benefits Associates at Canteen are offered a comprehensive benefits package.
