Hedgehog is an organic specialty mushroom producer pioneering innovative cultivation methods. We are hiring a full-time Farm General Manager to manage our farm in Beechgrove, TN (outside Murfreesboro). The farm produces 7,000 pounds per week of organic oyster, trumpet, and lion's mane mushrooms. The Farm General Manager will oversee day-to-day operations and manage a team of ten farm workers. They will manage planning, production, harvesting, packing, and fulfillment processes, as well as growing. Candidates must have experience in production or operations at a greenhouse or other indoor farm, but do not need experience with mushrooms.

Responsibilities

Operations Management: Plan and execute the daily workflow for production, harvesting, packing, and fulfillment to maintain product quality and meet weekly production targets.

Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and develop four farm workers; schedule labor and delegate tasks to optimize productivity.

Quality Control: Ensure mushrooms are harvested, handled, and packed according to high-quality standards for a perishable product.

Equipment & Facility Oversight: Maintain cleanliness, safety, and functionality of all farm equipment and facilities.

Inventory & Logistics: Track inventory of supplies, coordinate shipments, and oversee deliveries to ensure timely fulfillment of orders.

Growing: Achieve consistent yields through substrate production, managing environmental controls, and solving problems as they come up.

Qualifications

Greenhouse/Farm Experience: Ideally 7+ years, but at least 3 years in a production or operations role at a greenhouse or indoor agriculture setting.

Supervisory Background: Proven experience managing a team or leading a crew in an agricultural or production environment.

Organizational Skills: Ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and handle multiple responsibilities under tight timelines.

Communication Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills for coordinating with staff, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

Physical Stamina: Comfortable working in a farm environment with varying temperatures.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary: $80,000-95,000, depending on CEA experience
