Overview The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center Department of Neurology seeks an outstanding investigator at the Associate or Full Professor level to lead the Gerlach Endowed Chair in Epilepsy Research. This leadership role will report to the Chair of Neurology and the Director of the Neuroscience Research Institute. The Director of Epilepsy Research will build a world‑class team focused on advancing understanding of epileptic disorders, with potential emphasis on neurogenetics, epilepsy surgery, and health services research.

Responsibilities

Lead the Epilepsy Research program as Gerlach Endowed Chair, including shaping research strategy, securing funding, and guiding a team of investigators.

Develop and supervise a diverse portfolio of studies spanning neurogenetics, epilepsy surgery, and health services research as appropriate.

Engage in scholarly activities across research, teaching, and clinical practice in alignment with the TIU workload guidelines.

Collaborate with departments and divisions within OSU and external partners; contribute to mentoring and developing junior faculty and trainees.

Contribute to the growth and leadership of the Neuroscience Research Institute and Epilepsy initiatives.

Minimum Education Required Doctorate (Academic)

Required Qualifications

PhD, or MD/PhD required.

Successful completion of a background check.
