Position: Tenure-Track Faculty in Microbial Systems Biology
The Cecil H. and Ida Green Center for Systems Biology within the Lyda Hill Department of Bioinformatics at UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking to expand its research program in
microbial systems biology . We invite applications for tenure-track Assistant Professor candidates with interests in microbial genetics, physiology, synthetic biology, metabolism, and evolution. Candidates with experience integrating quantitative high-throughput experimentation with theory and informatics are highly encouraged to apply. Embedded in the Department of Bioinformatics, the Center aims to discover circuit theories for biology—predictive principles elucidating how biological components form networks to produce complex functionalities. Faculty collaborate with experts in genomics, machine learning/AI, and statistical physics. The Center also hosts a leading national hub in quantitative light microscopy development. UT Southwestern offers extensive core facilities in cryo-electron microscopy, metabolomics, crystallography, high-throughput screening, microscopy, and next-generation sequencing. As part of a large academic medical center, there are ample opportunities for collaboration with clinicians and access to clinical data and isolates. The successful candidate will receive a highly competitive startup package. Qualifications
A Ph.D. with significant postdoctoral research experience in Biochemistry, Computational Biology, Microbiology, Systems Biology, Quantitative Biology, or related fields. A strong research track record, evidenced by publications and preprints. Experience in securing research funding is a plus. Application Instructions
