Overview Job Description: SAP Application Services Architect for Production Planning Detailed Scheduling (PPDS)

Responsibilities

SAP is currently seeking an experienced Application Services Architect with expert knowledge of Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling (PPDS).

The SAP PPDS (Production Planning and Detailed Scheduling) module is a planning and scheduling tool integrated with SAP S/4HANA for advanced production planning, helping companies optimize resource utilization, minimize lead times, and improve throughput by planning with precise times and capacities.

This role will predominantly support customers in the Discrete Industries; additional industry knowledge is a plus.

The Application Services Architect facilitates and drives the Business Transformation via implementation programs of the S/4HANA Suite of Applications and Technologies to enhance the clients’ business functionality and cover business process requirements, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.

The role will deliver successful business outcomes for customers’ digital business transformation to the Cloud, leveraging SAP Technologies (SAP Business Suite, SAP AI, SAP Business Data Cloud – BDC) and the SAP RISE Methodology Tool Suite (Signavio, Lean-IX, CALM, Walk Me) with a Clean Core approach utilizing SAP’s Business Technology Platform (BTP).

Partner with the client and other system integrators to deliver design workshops, demonstrate SAP’s core capabilities, assess fit/gap analysis, define overall scope, configure the system, complete functional and technical specifications, define reporting requirements, coordinate testing, assist with end-user training, and provide cut-over, pre-go-live and post-go-live support and continuous improvement.

Move customers to the S/4HANA Digital Core, HANA, and Cloud Platforms.

Expected tasks in addition to implementation work and pre-sales support include:

Be actively involved in the preparation, conceptualization, realization and Go Live of customer implementation projects

Facilitate and lead Discovery (Fit to Standard) Workshops to better define scope and business processes and identify gaps

Perform feasibility studies and process design reviews

Take responsibility as a team lead and support line managers in people development tasks

Develop detailed plan of process implementation

Define detailed blueprint for development requirements

Lead industry/corporate process implementation across all related applications (SAP/non-SAP)

Develop and assure quality of process models

Demonstrate knowledge of modeling standards and tools (Signavio)

Assist in developing the overall project plan and liaison with client for troubleshooting

Analyze and map clients’ business requirements, processes and objectives; develop necessary product modifications

Position Requirements In addition to a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration or related discipline, and a minimum of seven years’ progressive experience, the successful candidate will possess:

A minimum of 7+ years of SAP Consulting experience. Graduate degree a plus.

Expertise in more than one (ideally) of the following solutions:

Production Planning Detailed Scheduling (PPDS)

Familiarity with core functions in IBP, APO Stack, MRP, MPS, etc.

Core ECC Logistics: PP, PP-PI, with strong integration knowledge with MM, QM, PLM, SD, etc.

Familiarity with integration to Manufacturing (shop Floor) DMC, MEE, MII, etc.

Familiarity with integration to SCM Execution (EWM, TM), etc.

Experience in Discrete industries (Automotive, Hi-Tech, IM&C, A&D) and related processes.

Formal SAP certification in a related area is a plus.

ABAP development and debugging skills a plus.

Experience with SAP Implementation Methodologies (RISE, Signavio, Lean-IX, Walk Me, CALM, ASAP, Activate, Sprints, Solution Manager, etc.).

Knowledge of SAP Model Companies (LOB & Industry), Premium Engagement offerings, etc.

Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact at all client levels.

Ability to act as a team lead, work-stream lead, or project management capability.
