We are looking for a
CMDB Architect
to lead configuration management initiatives for a major enterprise technology transformation. This role is ideal for a subject matter expert (SME) in ServiceNow CMDB, service mapping, and portfolio management, who can guide the team through complex modeling and mapping efforts. You’ll collaborate with technical stakeholders and discovery administrators to ensure accurate and timely population of configuration data that supports ITSM and business objectives. Responsibilities Lead the design, implementation, and management of CMDB solutions aligned with strategic IT goals. Define configuration items (CIs), classes, attributes, and data collection strategies for custom and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products. Collaborate with Discovery Administrators to execute service mapping and ensure proper integration into ServiceNow tables. Serve as the team’s go-to expert for complex CMDB-related questions and provide mentorship to peers. Ensure CMDB governance standards are met through effective cross-functional communication and collaboration. Minimum Qualifications Hands-on experience with ServiceNow, particularly in CMDB, Discovery, and Service Mapping. Strong understanding of ITIL framework and its application to CMDB and service modeling. Experience with ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM), Application Portfolio Management (APM), and Service Portfolio Management (SPM). Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure including applications, servers, networks, and software packages. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel) and Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence). Preferred Qualifications Experience onboarding and modeling business-as-usual (BAU) systems. Strong communication skills with the ability to explain platform functionality and architecture. Ability to operate independently in a lead-level role and provide strategic guidance to the team.
