BECU
Overview
Impact You’ll Make: As a Sr. Software Developer, you’ll play a pivotal role in transforming BECU’s mortgage experience by helping build API's to support a modern Loan Origination System (LOS). You’ll lead development efforts that directly impact our members, ensuring smoother, more reliable loan processes. Your work will span from designing scalable APIs to mentoring teammates and collaborating across agile workstreams. This is your opportunity to shape the future of mortgage technology at BECU while growing your own technical leadership. You’ll be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and long-term impact. To join our dynamic team, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, GA, or SC. If you’re located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance from Tukwila, we are requesting that you come into our HQ on Tuesdays & Wednesdays. For those candidates that live outside the commute distance of TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment. What You’ll Do
Lead Development Efforts: Drive the design and implementation of scalable, secure software solutions using C#/.NET, SQL, and Git workflows. Build Mortgage Technology: Collaborate on the development of custom APIs and configurations for ICE Encompass, supporting the transition to a new LOS. Architect and Design Systems: Contribute to system architecture, data models, and database migrations that support long-term scalability and performance. Drive Agile Delivery: Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to one of five workstreams focused on reporting, environments, data, and more. Ensure Secure Development: Apply secure coding practices and static code analysis tools to maintain high standards of security and reliability. Automate and Optimize: Lead efforts to automate business processes and improve interactions across systems with limited business guidance. Communicate and Present: Share technical insights with the broader engineering community and contribute to BECU’s technology roadmap. Support Post-Implementation: Shadow implementation efforts and prepare for long-term support, including debugging and vendor coordination. What You’ll Gain
High-Impact Work: Be part of a major transformation that directly improves the mortgage experience for BECU members. Cross-Team Collaboration: Work closely with implementation partners, business teams, and internal stakeholders across departments. Innovation Opportunities: Contribute to greenfield development and explore modern tools like ICE Encompass, Azure, and machine learning frameworks.
