Impact You’ll Make

As a Sr. Systems Engineer at BECU, you’ll modernize our mortgage experience by building the infrastructure that powers our new Loan Origination System (LOS) using ICE Encompass. Your work will ensure reliable, secure, and scalable systems that support faster delivery of features and services. You’ll lead the design and automation of CI/CD pipelines, enabling seamless deployments and integrations across environments. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and vendors to shape our technology landscape and drive innovation and stability in a high‑impact, member‑focused environment.

What You’ll Do Build CI/CD pipelines: design and implement automated pipelines to streamline deployments and improve system reliability.

Automate infrastructure: use Infrastructure‑as‑Code to provision and configure environments, ensuring consistency and scalability.

Deploy APIs: configure and deploy APIs to enable seamless integration across platforms.

Collaborate cross‑functionally: work with engineering, architecture, and vendor teams for smooth implementation and integration.

Ensure system health: monitor telemetry data, performance metrics, and logs.

Design secure systems: apply cybersecurity best practices from the earliest development stages.

Write and test code: develop high‑quality code and implement unit, integration, and interoperability tests in CI/CD pipelines.

Document and communicate: create process and dataflow diagrams and communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences.

Support and troubleshoot: be on‑call to resolve issues and ensure system uptime during non‑business hours.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a technical or business discipline or equivalent.

Minimum five years of experience delivering systems to production, with emphasis on Infrastructure‑as‑Code.

Minimum four years of experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Azure DevOps Services, GitHub Actions).

Experience designing and delivering two or more infrastructure systems (e.g., Azure PaaS, Azure IaaS, Windows/Linux servers).

Experience performing code reviews and following source control standards (e.g., Git Flow or Trunk‑Based Development).

Experience integrating security at design time and evaluating security measures.

Experience writing and publishing reusable, tested modules or libraries.

Proficient verbal and written communication skills.

Availability for on‑call support during non‑business hours.

Desired Qualifications Experience with ICE Encompass integrations.

Knowledge of AppDynamics and Application Insights.

Prior work at BECU or similar financial institutions.

Experience with SSO, OAuth2, and modern authentication flows.

Familiarity with integration testing, PowerShell, or Bash scripting.

Experience with multiple database technologies and writing complex SQL queries.

Skill in Test Driven Development and systematic debugging across services.
