Our client, a leading construction firm based in Fairfax, VA, is seeking a
Senior Project Accountant
to join their dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to play a key role in managing financial operations across multiple construction projects. Base pay range
$90,000.00/yr - $110,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities
Oversee project accounting for multiple construction projects from start to finish. Monitor budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking to ensure financial accuracy and compliance. Prepare and analyze monthly project financial reports and variance analyses. Collaborate with project managers and operations teams to ensure timely billing and revenue recognition. Manage subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and contract compliance. Support audits and ensure adherence to GAAP and internal controls. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in
construction/cost accounting . Strong understanding of job cost accounting, WIP schedules, and project billing. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, or similar). Excellent communication and organizational skills. CPA or CMA certification is a plus. Based in
Fairfax, VA . Hybrid work model available (3+ days onsite per week). Collaborative and fast-paced team environment. Seniority level
