Project Accountant

Manage day-to-day construction accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries. Set up new projects in the accounting system and ensure budgets and contracts are accurately recorded. Monitor project costs, track budgets, and provide variance analysis. Prepare and review monthly job cost reports, WIP schedules, and financial statements. Process subcontractor invoices, lien waivers, and vendor payments in compliance with contracts. Support project managers with financial data and reporting for active jobs. Maintain accurate records for audits, insurance, and compliance requirements. Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and intercompany transactions. Assist with forecasting, cash flow management, and other ad hoc financial analysis. Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred). 3–5 years of experience in construction accounting or related industry. Strong understanding of job costing, WIP reporting, and construction contracts. Proficiency in accounting software (experience with Sage, Viewpoint, or similar construction platforms is a plus). Advanced Excel skills and strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
