Real Estate Accountant | Hybrid – Minneapolis, MN
(All candidates must be currently located in Minnesota). This hybrid role offers exposure to full-cycle accounting activities along with the opportunity to gain a deep understanding of real estate operations and profitability drivers. This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys diving into the business, analyzing results, and collaborating cross-functionally to support both finance and operations. Base pay range
$65,000.00/yr - $75,000.00/yr What you’ll do
Perform
full-cycle accounting duties : journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close. Support weekly payroll processes, including reconciliations and analysis of all-in payroll costs. Partner with real estate management teams to understand staffing, chargebacks, and expense trending. Assist in
budgeting and forecasting
by analyzing GL activity, variances, and incentive accruals. Research profitability trends and provide clear explanations of financial results to management. Contribute to year-end close, audit support, and compliance requirements. Leverage
Excel and accounting systems
to streamline processes and reporting. What we’re looking for
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 3–5 years of corporate accounting experience (real estate/property management experience a plus). Strong understanding of accrual-based accounting and month-end close. Payroll process knowledge and experience with incentive accruals and cost allocations. Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas) and ERP system experience. Analytical, detail-oriented, and able to communicate results clearly to finance and non-finance stakeholders.
