Employment Paralegal Contract Opportunity Hybrid (San Jose, CA) (3 days onsite) Full-Time | Monday-Friday, 9:00am5:00pm PT We're looking for a highly organized and experienced Employment Paralegal to join our clients dynamic Legal team. In this role, you'll support all aspects of employment law matters from intake to litigation while driving the development of scalable legal processes. You'll collaborate closely with legal counsel, HR, and other cross-functional partners to ensure timely, accurate, and effective legal support. Legal & Administrative Support Draft, review, and format legal documents, memos, and correspondence Manage employment law intake process; conduct initial issue triage and respond to partners Maintain organized legal files and ensure timely record-keeping via Google Drive Schedule depositions, mediations, and internal meetings Manage legal billing and invoice tracking with outside counsel and vendors Litigation Management Maintain up-to-date case files for litigation, arbitrations, agency claims (EEOC, DOL, etc.), and internal investigations Track deadlines, filings, and litigation milestones Assist with discovery, including document collection, review, and production Coordinate directly with outside counsel to ensure smooth case management Compliance & Investigations Support internal investigations by coordinating documentation and interviews Help maintain compliance resources and employment law training materials Assist with employment law policy updates and risk assessments Project Management Lead high-priority projects using structured project management tools (RACI, timelines, milestones) Identify blockers, risks, and gaps; proactively drive resolution Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (HR, IT, Employee Relations) Conduct retrospectives and document lessons learned Qualifications: 5-7 years of experience as an in-house employment paralegal or case manager Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Drive) Case management and eDiscovery tools (e.g., Exterro) Legal billing/invoice systems Strong knowledge of litigation holds, discovery, document production Excellent organizational, communication, and multitasking skills Proven ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments Project management experience in legal or HR environments Experience with process automation or system improvements Data tracking and analytics related to employment legal matters A "people person" mindset who thrives in collaborative teams This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a high-impact legal team, working at the intersection of law, people, and process.
