Project Manager - Special Events & Business Operations
Join our dynamic team as an Events Project Manager, playing a pivotal role in shaping a vibrant hub of entertainment and hospitality. This critical position drives best-in-class private experiences and delivers long-term business value.
Duration: 6-12+ months W2 Contract Position, could extend
Location: On-site in Orange County, CA, collaborating in an energized office setting
Working Hours: 5 days/week (40 hours) core Pacific Time business hours
Compensation: starting at $75/hr and up, depending upon experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Process & Documentation Development:
Create repeatable event development processes and templates for large-scale events. Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for event operational readiness, training, communications, and project closeout. Project Oversight & Reporting:
Define Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for existing and upcoming event venues, track progress, manage resources and dependencies, and facilitate regular status updates, including accomplishments, milestones, risks, and issues. Strategic Vision : Collaborate on and execute the strategic vision for large, private events, ensuring alignment with overall business goals to maximize close rates and business value. Strategic Event Planning & Execution Understanding:
Has had some hands-on experience planning a diverse range of events and activations, from ideation to delivery, aligning with venue capabilities and client needs. Full Lifecycle Event Management:
Understands the various needs of events end-to-end, encompassing operational requirements, process flows, scheduling, marketing, finance, security, Food & Beverage (F&B), Audio/Visual (A/V), ticketing, HR, and legal considerations. Financial Analysis:
Support leadership by compiling business performance reports, cost-benefit analyses, and operational readiness assessments. Qualifications: 5-8+ years of experience with a blend of business operations, event management and project management. Demonstrated ability to develop and execute scalable workflows for events and asset management. Strong business development acumen with experience in research, budgeting, ROI, forecasting, and strategic planning Advanced project management skills, driving multiple simultaneous work-streams, with cross-functional teams Proven track record in planning and executing events, with strong understanding of creative, operational, financial, and logistical aspects. Soft Skills: Effective and engaging communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively. Passion for delivering exceptional guest experiences and alignment with company values. Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.
