Flex HR - Human Resources Consulting and Outsourcing Solutions Flex HR is a fast-growing HR outsourcing company with teams in Atlanta and Chicago. We provide human resources and payroll services to clients across multiple industries and focus on white-glove customer service. We are seeking a positive, self-motivated, detail-oriented Payroll Manager to join our team.

Job Responsibilities

Prepare and submit payrolls for multiple clients, managing a portfolio of 6-12 clients. Some clients may require handling 1-5 larger accounts with specific needs.

Follow appropriate workflows and procedures for the payroll department.

Ensure all employees are paid on time via live check or direct deposit.

Screen time-worked inputs for calculation, coding, or other errors.

Calculate and process Federal & State tax withholdings and other deductions (insurance, benefits, 401(k) contributions and company match).

Review and process payroll adjustments, including vacation, sick and other time off.

Collect banking information for direct deposit setup and initiate deposits on paydays.

Maintain knowledge of rules and laws governing payroll administration, taxation, benefits, and state & federal regulations.

Ensure payroll-related transactions comply with external and internal policies.

Track regular and overtime pay and consider commission-based income or bonuses.

Assist HR with open enrollment by manually entering new elections.

Process and monitor garnishments and other payroll-impacting issues.

Process employee terminations in the payroll system.

Generate accrual entries as needed and reconcile payroll records and general ledger.

Identify and resolve payroll issues, verify new hire information and changes before each payroll run, and handle tax change requests in payroll systems.

Respond to payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies.

Monitor client needs using company-provided tools and maintain documentation as required.

Take on other assignments and projects as directed by management.

Qualifications

Associate degree in accounting or business administration.

Minimum of 2-3 years of high-volume payroll experience.

Knowledge of benefits administration and certified payroll processing requirements.

Experience running payroll across multiple U.S. states.

Excellent customer service and written communications skills.

Payroll knowledge for the role; experience with multiple payroll platforms is helpful.

Experience with ADP, Netchex, Paychex and Paylocity is a plus; Paylocity expertise is desired.
