Trueline’s client , a dynamic, female owned California law firm dedicated to delivering proactive, responsive, and results-driven litigation support and advice, is seeking an experienced litigation legal secretary to join their Los Angeles or San Diego office. This role supports a busy civil litigation team, providing critical administrative assistance in drafting, calendaring, filing, and courtroom preparation, and offers the opportunity to help shape preventative legal strategy in a collaborative and supportive environment. What You'll Do as the Litigation Legal Secretary
Edit, finalize, and proof legal documents, correspondence, and reports Manually manage Outlook calendaring (state and federal court rules and deadlines) File documents with state and federal courts—including efiling Handle general administrative tasks (answer phones, prepare expense reports, coordinate travel, manage attorneys’ schedules) Support multiple attorneys across multiple cases and work independently while contributing to team efforts Must Haves as the Litigation Legal Secretary
Minimum 5 years of heavy civil litigation secretarial experience Thorough knowledge of state and federal court filing requirements, including e-filing systems Expert-level calendaring ability without relying on automated programs Strong technical proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint); able to prepare Tables of Authorities/Contents in Word Experience drafting legal documents: motions (including MSJs), discovery, pleadings, judicial council forms Exceptional organizational ability, attention to detail, and communication skills Familiarity with tools such as iManage, Coyote Analytics, Westlaw Deadline Assistant, and PACER Capacity to multitask, work independently under pressure, accept constructive feedback, and contribute as a collaborative, tech-savvy team member Nice to Haves as the Litigation Legal Secretary
Experience in employment law, professional liability (especially design professionals), construction, toxic tort or business/general liability litigation Prior trial preparation assistance, including exhibits and binders Our Client Offers
Full time in office role (40 hours/week, Mon–Fri, 8:30am –5:30pm); hybrid schedule available after 3 months Competitive salary range: $75,000–$90,000 DOE Robust benefits: employer paid medical, dental, vision, life insurance; 401(k); paid time off; parking
