State of North Carolina Position overview The Nursing Home Surveyor (Nurse Consultant I) conducts regulatory activities to determine compliance of nursing homes with federal and state requirements through inspections. Job details Recruitment Range: $57,712 - $85,846 Location: home-based, serving Cabarrus, Davidson, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, Union counties Travel: approximately three days per week in nursing homes; some inspections may require weekends or night shifts; overnight stays possible when regional distance exceeds 60 miles from home base Responsibilities Applying laws, regulations, rules, and protocols established by state or federal government Making decisions in conjunction with interdisciplinary team members or independently Completion of survey reports Qualifications and requirements Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina One year of experience in the area of specialization Strong clinical nursing background with assessment, care planning, and delivery of care Basic knowledge of nursing home state and federal standards, guidelines, and regulations Ability to travel 3-4 days per week, including overnight travel; occasional weekend day SMQT (Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test) certification required within 2 years of hire Residence in one of the following counties: Cabarrus, Davidson, Mecklenburg, Rowan, Stanly, Union Additional information The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is an Equal Opportunity Employer and follows an Employment First philosophy.
