Overview
The Senior Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) Functional Consultant defines and develops the strategy and implementations for Life Science manufacturing information systems. You will work with FactoryTalk PharmaSuite technology and tailor its implementation to client environments to improve reliability in critical manufacturing operations. Responsibilities
Build partnerships at a functional requirements level with client counterparts. Lead end-user manufacturing process discussions and process mapping for primary/secondary pharmaceutical manufacturing, API, Biopharmaceuticals, Medical Devices, and related life sciences environments. Lead workshops to analyze user requirements and design solutions that align to client needs and ANSI/ISA-88 standards. Write Functional Design Specifications to define standard functions and site-specific custom development. Build migration strategies from previous MES systems or paper batch records to PharmaSuite. Perform fit-gap analysis and configure functional aspects and solution designs for proposals and delivery. Define integration strategies of the MES application to enterprise systems, information management systems, and control level systems; author/review/implement MES validation plans (informal testing, integration test protocols, formal testing). Manage expectations for using application code in Master Batch Records for internal partners or client staff to build recipes for manufactured goods. Provide guidance on GAMP, GxP, FDA guidelines and best practices. Mentor technical and functional team members. Contribute to business growth and client success by participating in presales meetings. Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field. Willingness to work weekends and holidays to meet project commitments. Ability to travel to client sites (0–100%, average ~30%). 12+ years of professional functional/technical experience in software development, systems design, and deployment. Bachelor’s degree in IT-related fields (math, engineering, computer science, information systems). Experience with FactoryTalk PharmaSuite or other MES applications in life sciences. Understanding of MES domain knowledge and experience in Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical/Biotech/Medical Devices industries. Ability to design technically sustainable, modern, maintainable solution designs. Project management skills and understanding of cost estimation for solutions (infrastructure, licensed software). Knowledge of SDLC, automation, and ERP; basic understanding of object-oriented programming (Java, C++, C#, JavaScript/Java, HTML5). Knowledge of software configuration and validated software implementation (GxP, GAMP). This position is part of a job family.
