Data Center Structured Cabling-Design Phase Manager I at Mortenson. This role requires leading the design phase for data center structured cabling projects, with a strong background in low voltage systems (voice/data cabling, fiber optics, and related infrastructure). The Design Phase Manager will lead a team, collaborate with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners, and coordinate with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment. Base pay range $110,700.00/yr - $166,100.00/yr Responsibilities

Lead team members in resourcefulness, self-starting work habits, and problem solving based on information and good judgement Lead the development of execution plans, project schedules, and project budgets for structured cable projects including fiber optic cabling, inner duct installation, and ISP cabling Mentor, manage, and evaluate performance of Design Phase Managers Act as primary contact with owners, architects, engineers, and trade partners during the design phase Understand owner project needs, goals, and requirements; promote open communication and issue resolutions Define and track critical success factors to be incorporated into the PES process Handle change management decisions with owners and trade partners Translate the owner\'s vision into a constructible design solution within scope, budget, and schedule Provide direction on construction means, methods, feasibility, and materials for design documents Support project constructability and logistics through design input Coordinate with design assist trade partners and incorporate their input where appropriate Lead the estimating team in translating design solutions into cost documentation, including value engineering, budgets, and life-cycle cost estimates Make critical design decisions to maintain schedule and project goals Coordinate design deliverables with the Owner and stakeholders Develop initial project VDC requirements Procure and manage consultants and trade partners; develop buyout plans and transfer design/construction risk to trade partners Supervise budget and recommend trade partner selections within schedule and budget Coordinate on-site project teams to support a single project vision; ensure permits are in place Facilitate early meetings for project coordination and develop early on-site logistics and schedules Provide mentorship and input to business development and estimating as requested Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Estimating, or equivalent field Experience with complex data center, fiber optic, OSP and ISP projects Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks Risk management skills Microsoft Office, project management tools, and related web applications at an intermediate level Strong professional attitude, customer service skills, and effective communication Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies; resolve cross-cultural conflicts Adaptable to change and able to work with diverse backgrounds at all organizational levels Strong cross-cultural relationship building and influencing skills Track record of including diverse team members in challenging/high-profile tasks Fundamentals of construction and building design Minimum 10 years of related field experience Benefits
