Overview
This is a contract position for a Scientist - II based in Rahway, NJ, with duration 12+ months (extendable). Travel between Rahway, NJ and West Point, PA may be required up to 50%. Base pay range: $45.00/hr - $51.82/hr. Pay rate range (W2) included in the posting. Responsibilities
Independently develop, optimize and troubleshoot ligand binding assays (LBA) to support projects, including writing bioanalytical methods and assuming delegated bioanalytical responsibilities. Proficiently and independently implement LBA for analysis of biological samples in a GLP environment, covering sample preparation, instrument setup, processing, data interpretation, and issue resolution. Establish LBA capability within the team, including equipment procurement, lab setup, and LBA workflow implementation. Ensure real-time, accurate documentation compliant with GLP and departmental guidelines. Prepare reports (sample analysis and validation) and assemble documents for regulatory submissions; maintain required training for SOPs and safety guidelines. Work with management to meet short-term goals and timelines, often with limited supervision. Interact with partners in other functions (e.g., Drug Safety and Metabolism, Quality Assurance, program management). Perform other BA assignments as directed by management and demonstrate multi-tasking and teamwork. Qualifications
Minimum Educational Requirement: Ph.D. in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field with 3 years of industrial experience, or Master of Science in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field with at least 7 years of industrial experience (preferably in a bioanalytical laboratory). Required Experience and Skills: Experience developing, validating and implementing ligand binding assays under GLP. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with Watson or other LIMS systems. Proficiency in Microsoft Office products. Preferred Experience and Skills: Motivated with a willingness to learn and develop professionally. Experience in LC-MS/MS assay. Additional Context
