Full Time Tenure Track Faculty (Humanities)
The City Colleges of Chicago is seeking a full-time tenure track faculty member in the Humanities Department at Wilbur Wright College. The successful candidate will teach and evaluate students, prepare and revise course syllabi, and contribute to the overall operation of the College. Primary Responsibilities: Design courses and prepare syllabi with clearly articulated student learning objectives and outcomes. Teach on-campus and/or online classes consistent with the college's philosophy and policies. Create an effective learning environment that fosters intellectual curiosity and helps students problem-solve using discipline-specific thinking strategies. Help students reach their academic, personal, and career goals and foster a safe environment that respects diversity. Employ a variety of teaching methods to meet students' varying learning needs and interests. Work individually with students who need assistance and provide regular and useful feedback. Participate in professional development activities and stay current with innovations and trends in the academic discipline. Qualifications: M.A. in Humanities or a related field, or a Master's degree with 18 graduate credit hours in a related humanities discipline. Two to three years of teaching experience at the college level preferred. Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to communicate persuasively.
