Your Role as Director of Enrollment and Academics
Lead & Coach Teams - Guide and support a multidisciplinary team of academic, clinical, and operational staff, aligning them around shared goals and student outcomes. Build a Strong Culture - Foster a high-trust, high-accountability environment that balances structure with empathy, creating a positive and productive workplace. Ensure Educational Fidelity - Oversee fidelity to instructional and behavioral models, ensuring quality IEP implementation and consistent educational practices. Oversee Operations - Manage staffing, scheduling, compliance, budget oversight, and student enrollment to ensure seamless operational execution. Use Data for Decisions - Monitor student and staff performance through data-driven practices, using insights to guide decisions and improve outcomes. Develop Staff - Provide targeted coaching, constructive feedback, and professional development opportunities to foster continuous staff growth. Partner with Families & Community - Build strong, trusting relationships with families and community agencies, ensuring student-centered planning and collaboration. Guide Enrollment Decisions - Apply established criteria, in consultation with the clinical director, to make thoughtful and consistent student acceptance and enrollment decisions. Collaborate on Therapeutic Needs - Partner with the clinical director to ensure that students' therapeutic and educational needs are fully supported. Provide Testimony as Needed - Represent the school at impartial hearings for Connors and Carters funding cases, advocating for students' educational and therapeutic access.
Required Qualifications
Master's degree in Education, Psychology, or a related field. At least 5 years of leadership experience managing educators and administrative teams in a middle or high school setting. Prior teaching experience with a strong record of coaching and evaluating teachers. Deep knowledge of New York education laws, including Connors and Carters Funding. Expertise in special education with an understanding of mental health and behavioral disorders. Strong communication, collaboration, and relationship-building skills with families, districts, and community partners. Proven ability to use data to inform decisions and drive continuous improvement.
