What you will do
We are searching for a Farm Manager to oversee our 3,500-acre pecan farm in Las Cruces, NM and to develop and manage our 1,400-acre farm in Lordsburg, NM. The Farm Manager’s responsibilities include staff leadership, agronomic strategy and execution, budgeting and procurement, fleet management and readiness, operational planning and recordkeeping through AgWorld, trial work with university partners, reporting to ownership, and driving profitability. Responsibilities
Analyze existing operations, crops, staffing, and financials; recommend and implement improvements. Prepare annual and multi-year plans for planting, fertilization, irrigation, weed and pest control, pruning/hedging, harvest, and other operations. Monitor fields for irrigation performance and status, weed pressure, pests/disease, and overall crop condition; adjust programs accordingly. Procure fertilizer, chemicals, and key inputs; manage inventory and PO/requisition discipline. Supervise the Shop Manager; ensure preventive maintenance and high equipment uptime. Communicate clear expectations; run weekly planning and safety meetings; coach and develop supervisors and crews. Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA WPS, REIs/PHIs, and state pesticide regulations; maintain accurate spray and training records. Recruit, onboard, and train staff; develop and deliver training programs. Collaborate with accounting on budgets and monthly budget-to-actual reporting; prepare concise operational reports for the CEO. Design and execute field experiments; partner with university/extension; scale proven improvements. Use AgWorld to plan, schedule, and document work; maintain accurate, auditable records. Who you are

Required: Bachelor’s degree. Preferably in a technical field. Management of different irrigation systems (flood, sprinkler, drip) 5+ years managing large-scale perennial orchards; 2+ years leading supervisors. A passion for Agriculture Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills Excellent computer skills are required; Excel, AgWorld (or similar) The ability to make decisions in stressful environments Superb communication and interpersonal skills Overtime will be required as with any farm job Preferred: Pistachio farming experience Additional courses in Business Management or Administration Walnut or pecan experience Recruiting and managing H2A workers.
