12 Month Position Summary
The Ballmer Institute is seeking qualified applicants for its research recruitment open pool. Positions will be limited duration appointments that are part-time or short-term, with contracts not to exceed one year; some projects may carry the possibility of renewal up to a total of three years, depending on programmatic need, funding, and performance. Research activities will involve contributing to studies on behavioral health in youth and families, with focus areas including: Mental health literacy and prevention strategies Social and environmental influences on sleep and developmental processes Technology use and its impact on well-being Risk and protective factors for youth psychopathology Implementation and evaluation of evidence-based interventions in community settings Research Assistant positions will conduct research under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI); Research Associate positions will conduct research with only general guidance from the PI. These positions have the opportunity to acquire research experience, contribute to program goals, and receive an annual performance evaluation. Postdoctoral Research Scholars will conduct research under the direction of a faculty member for the purpose of acquiring ongoing research training after completing their doctoral degree. In addition to further career development, the postdoctoral research scholar and PI will create and follow mentoring and individual development plans. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis. Screening of applications will take place as positions become available and will continue until positions are filled. Salary will be dependent upon education, experience, and available funding. Some positions are location bound including cities such as Portland, OR; Eugene, OR; Boston, MA; and Philadelphia, PA. Other positions may be virtual/hybrid. Minimum Requirements
To qualify for the rank of: Research Assistant (Type B) : Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or other related field Research Assistant (Type C) : Master’s degree in Psychology or other related field Research Associate : Ph.D. by start of the position; experience in a research lab Postdoctoral Scholar : Ph.D. by start of the position; experience in a research lab Professional Competencies
Professional experience, ability, or potential for quality research. Preferred Qualifications
