Dimension Hospitality Job Location: Princeton, NJ Position Type: Full Time Salary Range: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 Overview
Job Purpose: Generation of top line catering revenue for the hotel by maximizing all revenue potential and up-selling additional events/amenities, whenever possible, to build additional revenues. Responsibilities
Handle and follow up on inquiries for small meetings/events with or without guestrooms. Qualify customer needs and event dates to determine fit for the property. Negotiate contracts and banquet event orders (BEO). Identify and price customer needs, up-sell where possible, close the sale with the customer, collect deposits, and obtain signatures on the BEO. Communicate group details/changes to all hotel departments, coordinating customer needs with other property activities to meet expectations and ensure efficient operations. Present potential business at Driver Meetings to determine the best mix of customers to attain budgeted revenues. Conduct meetings with clients and hotel staff to ensure events meet client expectations. Finalize and detail catering plans for groups contracted by the assigned sales manager. Orchestrate on-site or off-site functions and solve problems as needed. Prospect for new catering business through phone calls, outside sales calls, trade shows, community events, blitzes, internet prospecting, and supplier partnerships. Monitor blocked space to ensure groups meet contractual obligations. Release blocked space on cut-off dates to sell rooms to other customers. Maintain account files in the software system and ensure accurate communication between client and hotel staff. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Management, Marketing or related field. Experience:
Minimum 2 years catering sales, or 2 years in hotel Catering/Convention Services, Banquet, Hotel Sales or Culinary Arts; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Licenses/Certifications:
Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to drive to appointments. Skills
Exhibit computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and familiarity with brand-specific property management systems. Knowledge of Word, Excel, Internet, Delphi and Meeting Matrix or similar systems. Excellent communication, presentation, organization, time management, listening, and math skills. Analytical skills for measuring business potential and value to the hotel. Maintain contact and event information and submit sales contracts following procedures. Read and interpret documents and write routine reports and correspondence. Physical Requirements
Ability to speak and hear in English. Close and distance vision. Frequent sitting with some walking and standing. May lift/carry up to 25 lbs. Manual dexterity required. Stand for long periods and walk extended distances. Ability to work overtime and irregular hours. Working Conditions
