Overview Strategic Management Assistant/Associate Professor Join to apply for the Strategic Management Assistant/Associate Professor role at California State University, Fresno.

Position and Context Craig School of Business, Department of Management, California State University, Fresno. The Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position in Strategic Management for Fall Semester 2026 (August 2026).

Responsibilities

Primary teaching and research interests in Strategic Management or closely related disciplines (e.g., Entrepreneurship, International Business, Innovation/Technology Management, Sustainability).

Instruct and inspire undergraduate and MBA students; conduct scholarly and applied research; engage in service to the department and university.

Develop and update course curricula, including service-learning, and offer hybrid, hyflex, and online courses.

Potential opportunities to teach in the Executive MBA and/or Accelerated Bachelor’s in Business Administration programs.

Supervise MBA student consulting teams and conduct workshops/seminars for the local business community.

Collaborate with faculty, staff, and students across the department, college, and University; assignments depend on departmental needs and candidate background.

For exceptionally qualified candidates at associate or full professor rank, consideration for the Reighard Endowed Chair (five-year chair with salary supplement and professional development funds).

Qualifications Required Education:

An earned doctorate (Ph.D. or DBA) in Strategic Management or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited institution; candidates with doctorates from similarly situated schools may be considered. Doctorate must demonstrate readiness to teach Strategic Management at undergraduate and graduate levels beginning Fall 2026.

Applicants nearing completion of the doctorate (All But Dissertation) may be considered; doctorate must be completed by August 1, 2026.

Required Experience:

Commitment to working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse ethnic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Evidence of scholarly or research activity in Strategic Management or related disciplines (e.g., Entrepreneurship, International Business, Innovation/Technology Management, Sustainability).

Teaching experience at the undergraduate level.

Demonstrated potential to teach courses in Strategic Management.

Preferred Experience:

Demonstrated success in teaching as an instructor of record.

Publications in scholarly journals.

Graduate-level teaching experience.

Skill in facilitating community-based workshops and seminars.

Campus Information Tenure-Track Faculty members have a defined path to tenure through the Probationary Plan Process.
