FirstKey Homes is hiring a Senior .NET Developer to help lead the development of new and existing custom applications that support critical internal operations. This is a hands-on role using modern Microsoft technologies hosted in Azure. You’ll work closely with the Director of Engineering and global development teams to architect, build, and maintain scalable applications in a collaborative and fast-moving environment.
This role is ideal for a senior developer who enjoys technical ownership, clean code, and contributing to a growing engineering practice.
Responsibilities
Design and Build Applications: Lead backend development for custom internal applications using .NET, C#, and SQL Server. Own Application Codebases: Collaborate with the Director of Engineering to manage and improve the code quality, scalability, and performance of core systems. Implement APIs and Integrations: Develop and maintain APIs, services, and data layers (REST/gRPC, EF Core). Lead by Example: Contribute high-quality code, perform code reviews, and help enforce clean architecture and SOLID principles. Collaborate Across Functions: Work closely with Product Managers and QA to understand requirements, estimate effort, and deliver features. Coordinate Globally: Align with offshore teams, support collaboration across time zones, and ensure delivery consistency. Support Deployment and Testing: Participate in CI/CD workflows, write unit/integration tests, and support release processes. Drive Improvement: Identify technical debt, propose solutions, and help advance our engineering standards and toolsets. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field preferred High School Diploma or equivalence required 5-8+ years of backend development experience with .NET technologies Strong C# skills and experience with .NET Core / .NET 6+ Expertise with SQL Server, T-SQL, stored procedures, and query optimization Hands-on experience with Entity Framework / EF Core, LINQ Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs (gRPC or GraphQL is a plus) Understanding of microservices architecture, message brokers (e.g., RabbitMQ, Kafka) Experience with unit testing, integration testing (e.g., xUnit, NUnit, Moq) Experience with cloud platforms (Azure) Solid understanding of object-oriented design, design patterns, and SOLID principles Prior experience designing, building, and maintaining large-scale distributed systems Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, DevOps practices Good grasp of asynchronous programming and multithreading NICE TO HAVE
Experience working with distributed/offshore development teams Familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Redis, Cosmos DB) Exposure to frontend integration and full-stack workflows (optional, but helpful) Working Conditions
