Overview
Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery The Division of Trauma, Acute Care Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Miami, Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, is seeking a trauma and surgical nutrition fellowship trained surgeon to join the Ryder Trauma team at the Assistant Professor of Clinical Surgery level. The candidate will provide clinical services including surgical nutrition support, emergency and elective general surgery, trauma, and burns to patients at Jackson Memorial Hospital/Ryder Trauma Center, Jackson South Medical Center/Ryder Trauma South, and the University of Miami Hospitals and Clinics. The candidate will support the missions of the University of Miami by providing teaching to students, residents, and other learners, and through scholarly work and publication. The candidate will also contribute to the hemispheric reputation of the University of Miami by participation in national and international surgical associations. In addition to the educational activities of the Daughtry Family Department of Surgery, the division has a robust Panamerican presence and the candidate will be expected to participate in regularly scheduled International Trauma Grand Rounds and other activities of the division as they arise. Responsibilities
Provide clinical services in surgical nutrition support, emergency and elective general surgery, trauma, and burns at affiliated facilities. Engage in teaching for medical students, residents, and other learners; contribute to scholarly work and publication. Participate in international and regional surgical associations and activities; engage in regularly scheduled International Trauma Grand Rounds and related division activities. Qualifications
Board certified or eligible by the American Board of Surgery, or comparably competent for international candidates; ability to obtain a Florida medical license and DEA registration. Certifications in ACLS, ATLS, and PALS are required. Benefits
