Congruex is looking for an OSP Engineer to join our team. Job Summary Responsible for the engineering design and drafting of cost-effective, accurate, and high-quality OSP and/or ISP work/fine prints while meeting or exceeding client deadlines. Design requirements vary by project (client/region/district/job type).
Responsibilities
Work in various customer-specific systems to produce a cost-effective engineered design for construction to place, splice, install, and maintain for many years to come.
Identify assigned fiber/copper pairs at strategic access points and design an aerial and/or underground path from point A to point B.
Identify the necessary requirements to successfully attach fiber/copper cables to poles and place cables in underground environments.
Engineer in the public right of way and on private property, avoiding conflict with existing facilities.
Initiate internal work order requests for other departments necessary to complete the entire project.
Update tracking systems to ensure project/program status is maintained with accuracy, including third-party management systems.
Communicate all issues to management before reaching critical status.
Develop and maintain accurate and complete project files, monitoring integrity and completeness.
Meet or exceed internal and external quality standards and on-time delivery.
Other relevant duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Qualifications
General
Advanced level of OSP design knowledge.
Knowledge of industry standards.
Ability to design outside plant work orders (EWO).
Provide administrative and field support to the outside plant provisioning process.
Familiarity with various outside plant engineering concepts.
Ability to utilize facility analysis to select rehabilitation areas, coordinate field work, and prepare work order drawings and documentation.
Ability to read and interpret work order records, navigate systems such as ACAS, Aramis Records, Waldo, AOtX, MIC, IWM, USH, NJUNS, etc.
Provide work order estimated expenditures and/or placement and joint-use memos.
Knowledge of infrastructure plans (highway, sewer, bridge, etc.) and survey information.
Understand FDOT requirements and notifications; UWS proficiency.
Attend and/or lead project-related construction field meetings with AT&T local construction groups, road contractors, and other utilities.
Conflict ID and Conflict Mitigation (RGBs) understanding.
Ability to work in both office and field environments with local AT&T Engineer staff.
Technical
Experience in Windows environment; Office 365, SharePoint, and MS Excel; knowledge/experience in AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS, or client proprietary design systems.
Knowledge and experience with project management processes, tools, and coordinating multiple projects with reproducible results.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline preferred
Construction experience preferred
Field experience preferred
Knowledge & experience in telecommunications, outside plant engineering design or field inspection, and/or network construction
Knowledge of fiber networking, routing, and network management
Knowledge and understanding of various broadband network designs and architecture
