We are seeking a highly skilled and intellectually curious Senior Data Scientist to join our team in Birmingham, Alabama. This role requires a strong foundation in the scientific method, advanced data analysis capabilities, and a passion for uncovering insights through data. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in statistics, programming, and machine learning, and will thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. Essential Job Responsibilities

Data Wrangling & Preparation: Clean, transform, and organize large datasets from various sources to ensure usability and accuracy. Data Analysis & Exploration: Apply statistical techniques and exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies. Model Development: Build, validate, and deploy machine learning and statistical models to solve complex business problems. Visualization & Communication: Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. Scientific Method Application: Design experiments, formulate hypotheses, and conduct rigorous testing to support data-driven decision-making. Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with engineering, product, and business teams to integrate data solutions into operational workflows. Big Data Processing: Utilize big data frameworks to process and analyze large-scale datasets efficiently. Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field. 5–10 years of professional experience in data science, analytics, or a related discipline. Programming Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language (R or Python required). Statistical Expertise: Strong understanding of statistical methods, hypothesis testing, and experimental design. Machine Learning: Familiarity with a wide range of ML algorithms (e.g., regression, classification, clustering, ensemble methods). Big Data Tools: Experience with big data processing frameworks such as Spark, Hadoop, or similar. Visualization Tools: Proficiency in tools like Tableau, Power BI, matplotlib, ggplot2, or equivalent. Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly. Big Bonus Points If You Have

Advanced degree (Ph.D. or Master’s) in a quantitative field Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) Experience in deploying models to production environments Compensation

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role is

$68.00 - $73.00 per hour . The disclosed pay range estimate has not been adjusted for geographic differential. Compensation decisions depend on skills and experience. About APC & EEO
