Experienced Software Engineer - Systems
to join the KC-46 Software team located in Tukwila, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. The KC-46 "Pegasus" is the new US Air Force aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions, and includes self-protection, defensive and communication systems for survivability in contested environments. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain software across the full software development lifecycle, translate customer requirements into software requirements and models, and develop software components for system integrations. The role requires leadership in a multi-disciplined team and excitement to work on existing and emerging government and international programs. Designs, develops, analyzes, and maintains software systems that meet industry, customer, and internal quality, safety, security and certification standards Partners with stakeholders to define system goals and translate system-level requirements into software requirements and models with traceability to design, code, and test artifacts Performs software system-level analyses to identify risks and opportunities; deploys mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle Conducts code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards Monitors and reviews test completion, verification processes, and issue resolution for software systems Develops documentation and coordinates with teams impacted by software changes (integration teams, end users, training) Presents detailed software design, impacts, and limitations to review boards and stakeholders Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and regulatory changes relevant to software development Provides software project management and software supplier management activities Works effectively in a team environment Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
5+ years of experience in developing, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for Software Systems 5+ years of experience in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) 5+ years of experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java or Ada Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Experience with customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification (e.g., DO-178B/C) Experience with customer and supplier organizations, processes, policies and procedures, products, requirements, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, constraints Experience in engineering disciplines applied to product-related systems throughout the product development lifecycle Experience with format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes Experience relating specifications/standards to aircraft/product certification systems Experience deriving and allocating requirements with traceability across the product lifecycle Experience with software development processes in line with internal and industry standards, guidelines, and best practices Experience with implementation, validation, and verification processes to ensure software quality, performance, and safety Other Information
