Experienced Software Engineer - Systems

to join the KC-46 Software team located in

Tukwila, Washington . This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Software Engineering organization. The KC-46 is a multi-role tanker aircraft designed to perform aerial refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac missions, and is equipped with self-protection, defensive and communication systems. In this role, you will design, develop, test, and maintain software throughout the full software development lifecycle. You will review, analyze, and translate customer requirements and technical specifications for stakeholders, and contribute to the development, maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of Aerial Refueling and Mission System Software components for systems integrations. We seek a leader who is passionate about aerospace and thrives in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment that supports software for existing and emerging government and international programs. This position requires demonstrated experience as a Software Systems Engineer, knowledge of the full software development life cycle (requirements, design, code, test), and strong judgment and decision-making to engineer new solutions and support existing capabilities for multiple programs and customers. Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting skills are required. Position Responsibilities

Designs, develops, analyzes, and maintains software systems that meet industry, customer, and internal quality, safety, security and certification standards Partners with stakeholders to inform system definition and translate system-level requirements into software requirements and models with clear traceability to design, code and test artifacts Performs system-level analyses to identify risks, issues and opportunities; integrates and deploys mitigation actions throughout the software lifecycle Conducts code reviews to ensure alignment to requirements and standards Monitors and reviews test completion, verification processes, and issue resolution for software systems Develops documentation and coordinates with teams impacted by software changes Publishes and presents detailed software design, impacts, and limitations to review boards and stakeholders Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and regulatory changes relevant to software development Provides software project management and software supplier management activities Works effectively in a team environment Basic Qualifications (Required)

5+ years of experience in developing, documenting and maintaining architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for Software Systems 5+ years of experience in Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) 5+ years of experience in software development using languages such as C, C++, Java or Ada Preferred Qualifications (Desired)

Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science Experience with customer or governmental regulations relevant to design, test, and certification (e.g., DO-178B/C) Experience with customer/supplier organizations, processes, policies, procedures, products, requirements, and related practices Experience in engineering disciplines applied to product-related systems throughout the product development life cycle Experience with change control processes and documentation standards Experience with aircraft/product certification systems and traceability of requirements Experience with software development processes compliant with internal and industry standards Experience with verification and validation processes to ensure software quality, performance, and safety Union:
