This position is responsible for planning, designing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining the network and telephony infrastructure. The role requires technical leadership and management of a team of network engineers and administrators. The position requires strong technical knowledge of network and telephony principles, along with hands-on experience. The individual must be familiar with best practices for implementation and ongoing operations of an enterprise landscape. Responsibilities include: Providing leadership and direction to team members Managing the team to resolve problem tickets for a 24x7x365 network Driving operational and proactive monitoring of corporate WAN/LAN/SAN/MPLS/IPS/Wireless networks Capacity planning and analyzing enterprise site bandwidth requirements Executing and demonstrating sound project management disciplines Maintaining and developing project plans for managing resource workload and budgeting Designing, engineering, implementing, and managing complex networks and systems Ensuring disaster recovery and planned testing activities are performed Maintaining documentation of relevant specifications, systems, and procedures Developing and enforcing processes, procedures, and standards Analyzing network activity to discover and prevent systematic errors Managing the support team and providing hands-on assistance when required Implementing and administering Site-to-site VPN and remote client VPN access Enforcing network standards for global hardware and software purchases Managing the corporate VoIP and collaboration suite Managing corporate contracts for hardware, software, and teleco maintenance Participating in creating annual budgets and project portfolios Providing leadership in perimeter security Qualifications
Experience required: 5+ years of experience managing a network team of administrators and engineers Advanced experience with Sniffer and/or related analysis tools Cisco network certifications or demonstrated experience (e.g., CCNA, CCNP, or CCSP) Good working knowledge of structured copper and fiber cabling infrastructure standards Extensive understanding of VPNs and MPLS networks and their management Expert hands-on knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stacks, Ethernet, FCoE, IPS/IDS, DNS, DHCP, web security, VPN, and NAC Expert knowledge of Cisco IOS with hands-on experience configuring Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls Strong experience with Cisco network design and implementation in a highly virtualized enterprise environment Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and test planning skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal, organizational, customer service, communications, and presentation skills Education required: Bachelor's degree in a related IT field.
