Amazon Web Services is looking for an Infrastructure Technical Program Manager to support and deploy one of the world’s largest and most complex telecommunication networks. The role executes a strategic plan to improve business processes and deployment of hyper-scaled cloud infrastructure, creates a quality control system for North and South America (NASA), conducts pre/post-inspections for design validation, and pilots stakeholder communication for delivery schedules. This opportunity is within Global Connectivity Infrastructure Delivery - Fiber Deployment, responsible for project management, quality and delivery of fiber capacity for physical network solutions that drive Amazon’s internal infrastructure and connect services to the world. Key responsibilities
Program management to monitor vendor delivery of physical infrastructure projects. Technical skills in fiber optic outside plant, process engineering, construction management or quality control systems. Reports to the NASA GCID-FD Deployment Manager and provides regular updates to NASA and Global Senior management. Serve as a key member of the North and South America GCID-FD team to drive network infrastructure strategy and scaling operations. Vendor management to deploy on time, measure progress, and rate through quality KPIs. Develop a focused quality management program tracking defects, mitigating risks, standardizing root cause analysis, and implementing KPIs to rate vendor success. Create and standardize reporting mechanisms for the fiber deployment group and provide regular progress updates to management and stakeholders. Periodically report on the overall network development program status across the assigned region. Manage and track approved network plans with internal customers and stakeholders until the infrastructure is in service. Manage multiple competing cross-functional projects/programs simultaneously, including global-scale initiatives. Interact with engineers, technicians, vendors, and senior management daily. Physically audit completed construction work, review fiber test results, and hand off completed delivery to internal customers. Run meetings, create and maintain timelines, and inform large, diverse groups of progress and obstacles. Anticipate bottlenecks, manage risk and escalations, and balance business needs with technical constraints. Coordinate access and approvals to security-regulated sites. Travel 25-40% of the time. This role oversees deployment of infrastructure and iterative procedural changes, including travel to the field, weekly reports, and updates to standards and specifications for a global deployment team. Onsite visits to physical locations and learning technical standards for outside and inside fiber plant are required. About the team

3+ years of technical infrastructure management experience Knowledge of best practices and emerging technologies related to infrastructure (network, data center, hardware, software) Experience with varying scenarios of infrastructure builds Preferred Qualifications
