Generate relevant, innovative and creative design concepts for a wide range of project types, including Site and Master Planning, Large-scale Housing and Student Housing, Hospitality/Resort, and Corporate Office. Collaborate with firm Partners and leadership on Concept Design; support Studio Leaders with ongoing design efforts, entitlements, public hearings, design reviews, and staff mentoring. Contribute to projects from initial concept design through production and construction; engage in client communication and interaction as needed. Demonstrate strong design skills, self-motivation, and the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; facilitate cross-team collaboration and design detailing across projects. Mentor and coach other team members; participate in a learning and mentorship culture within the firm. Qualifications
Experience and Education Minimum of 5 years of experience in architectural design firms. Professional Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school. Skills and Major Responsibilities Ability to deliver creative design concepts, sketches, renderings, and models for a wide range of projects with minimal oversight. Skilled at quick concept sketching and creating 3D images to clearly express design concepts and project vision for staff and partners. Ability to conceptualize, present, and defend multiple design concepts to Design Partners. Collaborate with Studio Leaders to integrate design detailing into ongoing projects. Strong proficiency in a wide range of media, including hand drawing, SketchUp and other presentation/graphic software. Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and presentations); able to speak about design and present concepts at Planning Boards and public meetings. Technical knowledge to anticipate and integrate building systems and structural requirements into Concept Designs; ensure design integrity into Production and Construction. Experience designing, overseeing and delivering complete Test Fit and Entitlements packages that align Design, Zoning and Code with appropriate metrics and graphics. Strong knowledge of Zoning Codes, Building Codes applicable at the Concept Design level; ability to research and interpret zoning data and organize information in advanced Excel formats. Ability to research materials options appropriate to building type, client vision, and project location. Ability to enhance client relationships and develop new relationships; coach and mentor team members. Other A valid, unrestricted driver’s license and driving record must be presented and maintained.
