We are seeking a skilled and motivated Network Security Engineer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for protecting our organization's network infrastructure from security threats by designing, implementing, and monitoring security measures and protocols. You will play a key role in maintaining the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of company systems and data. Position: Network Security Engineer Location - NYC, NY Hybrid Long Term Contract Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and manage secure network solutions to protect against unauthorized access, modification, or destruction. Configure firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and other security appliances. Monitor network traffic for suspicious behavior and respond to incidents in real-time. Conduct regular network and system vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. Maintain and update security policies, procedures, and documentation. Work closely with the IT team to ensure network and system security best practices are being followed. Ensure compliance with internal and external security standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR). Respond to and investigate security breaches, providing root cause analysis and remediation. Assist in the development and implementation of disaster recovery and business continuity plans. Provide technical support and guidance to other departments on security-related matters. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or related field. Experience in network security, cybersecurity, or a related role. Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network protocols. Experience with security tools and technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM platforms, and endpoint detection and response (EDR). Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their security practices. Knowledge of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO). Security certifications are a plus (e.g., CISSP, CEH, CompTIA Security+, CCNP Security).
